	Lake South of the castle, glittering in the sunlight, is the lake. Spreading wide, extending until it reaches nearby hills, the sparkling, pristine lake is one of the most breathtaking sights of Hogwarts. One word of advice, however. For those of you who fancy a swim, you'd better reconcider. The lake's full of Gryndilows, mer-folk, and is home to the dreaded Giant Squid. So swimmers beware! 	Quidditch Pitch The house flags fly high in the breeze as you approach the quidditch pitch. The stands, towering 50 feet above the ground, cast long shadows across the grounds. On either side of the lenghty stadium are the golden posts, three to each side. For the quidditch fan, there's no better place to be. 	Greenhouses The earthy smell of potting soil and fertilizer overwhelm you as you enter the greenhouses. The air is humid and warm, and plants brush you as you walk by. And, depending on the time of year, some of them GRAB you. There are rows and rows of various exotic plants, each with its own special properties and uses. It's here that most, if not all Herbology classes take place. Make sure you bring your dragon-hide gloves! 	Hagrid's Hut Adding to the scenery is a quaint, ramshackle hut rooted beside the vast expanse of forest that hugs the Hogwarts grounds. The hut itsself is a large, round structure with a chimney that sends off whisps of smoke almost constantly. There's a small garden just outside of the hut, and there's usually a rather large, impressive dog sitting and keeping watch. Grounds

Looking about, Hagrid's hut can be seen on the edge of the forest. The lake can be seen on the south side of the castle, and on the other side of the school the Quidditch pitch is found. By the Lake, the Whomping Willow waves it's branches threateningly. Annexed to the castle are the Greenhouses, where Professor Sprout most often can be found.
